How do I bid on an item?
  • Register for an account with mycharitywins.com by clicking on register in the top right of any page.

  • Choose an item that interests you and click on the item.

  • On the right of the item page there will be a box called “bidding INFO” where you can see the current bid status of the item. In the field “Your Maximum Bid” place the amount you are willing to pay for the item and click “bid now”. A confirmation box will appear confirming your bid, if you are happy with the amount click “bid now”. (If you are not logged in you will be re-directed to a login page)

  • You will receive a bid confirmation email for reference

  • If your maximum bid is lower than someone else’s maximum bid you will receive an email informing you that you have been outbid and you will need to place a higher maximum bid.

All bids form a binding contract. Please email info@mycharitywins.com if you have any questions regarding the terms and conditions.

What is a “reserve”?

It is useful for charities and donors to be able to set a minimum price at which they are happy for an item to be sold for. If an item displays the text “reserve not met”, the seller is not obligated to sell the item at that price. The reserve is not visible to bidders and will only disappear once bidding has increased above it.

If your maximum bid is the first to meet or exceed the reserve price, the effective bid displayed will automatically be raised to the reserve price.

What is an “increment”?

An “increment” is the amount set by the seller that they want the item to increase in value by per bid. For example if the increment is £10 and the current bid is £100, the next allowed bid would be £110 (£100 + £10).

How do I pay?

The payment method is dependent on what the seller accepts. You will need to check the “payments accepted” section on the right of an item page.

How do I know if I’ve been outbid?

If you have been outbid you will be sent an email from mycharitywins.com alerting you that you have been outbid.

I want to find out more about an item, who can I contact?

You can contact us at info@mycharitywins.com

Is the amount I paid for an auction lot tax-deductible?

We suggest you speak to a professional tax advisor regarding deductions on items.

Can I retract a bid?

Unfortunately you are unable to retract bids. When you place a bid this forms a legally binding contract and if you win the item you will be expected to purchase the item.

Can I donate to a charity of my choice?
